Programs

CORE develops a range of strategic and operational programs covering science, education, digital tools, publishing and social impact

CORE Academy – courses, workshops and trainings in the field of open science, methodology, digital literacy.

Mentoring programs - connecting young researchers with mentors from different disciplines.

CORE Labs – thematic laboratories for interdisciplinary research (e.g. open data, AI in education, decision making, etc.).

Open Science Incubator - support for projects that apply open methods, preprints, FAIR data.

Citizen Science Initiatives – involving the public in research processes.

CORE Tools - development and distribution of open-source tools for research, visualization, publishing.

Science for Society - application of research in public policies, education and communities.
Global CORE Network - connecting with universities, institutes and the NGO sector.

Program Objectives:
- Encouraging the open exchange of knowledge through public scientific gatherings.
- Promotion of interdisciplinary research and innovation.
- Involvement of young researchers and marginalized communities.
- Creation of permanent publication traces through collections, preprints and thematic reports.
- Internationalization of scientific communication and cooperation.

CORE Academy

Decision-making course

The course is designed to provide participants with tools for critical thinking, risk assessment, and choosing optimal solutions in complex situations. Through case studies, interactive exercises, and ethical dilemmas, participants will develop the ability to make strategic and responsible decisions. Regardless of the field of activity, this course encourages self-confidence, analytical skills, and awareness of the consequences of choices.

Decision-making under uncertainty course

The course provides an interdisciplinary approach to decision-making in the face of complex and unpredictable realities. Students will explore fuzzy logic, Bayesian networks, probability theory, opportunity theory, and other advanced models that enable a more precise understanding and management of uncertainty. Through case studies, simulations, and critical analysis, the course develops the ability to formulate decisions that are robust, adaptive, and informed despite data limitations.

Multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) course

The course focuses on methods and techniques for decision-making in situations with multiple conflicting criteria. Participants will be introduced to models such as AHP, TOPSIS, ELECTRE and other MCDM methods, with applications in real-world scenarios from science, industry and public policy. The course develops the ability to structure problems, rank alternatives and select optimal solutions in complex, multidimensional contexts.

Scientificpaper writing course

The course is designed to provide students with a systematic approach to academic expression, paper structure, and scientific argumentation. Participants will learn how to formulate a research question, organize content, use relevant citation styles, and adapt the text to the requirements of journals and reviewers. Through practical exercises, case analysis, and ethical guidelines, the course develops the skills of clear, precise, and influential scientific writing.

TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution)

TOPSIS is a multi-criteria decision-making tool designed to help users rank alternatives based on their proximity to the ideal solution. This intuitive software enables decision-makers to define criteria, assign weights, and evaluate alternatives through a structured and transparent process. You can download the code for this interactive Streamlit application in Python below.

AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) - weights

AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) is a structured decision-making tool used to derive precise weights for criteria based on pairwise comparisons. This software guides users through the process of evaluating the relative importance of each criterion, ensuring consistency and transparency in judgment. You can download the code for this interactive Streamlit application in Python below.

AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) - weights + alternatives

This tool enables precise determination of criterion weights through pairwise comparisons and guides users through the process of evaluating the relative importance of each criterion, ensuring consistency and transparency in decision-making based on the AHP method. Through a systematic approach, AHP facilitates the selection of the optimal alternative based on clearly defined priorities. You can download the code for this interactive Streamlit application in Python below.

Conference Organizing Programs

CORE has so far participated in the organization of numerous domestic and international conferences, forums and scientific meetings, contributing to the development of open science, interdisciplinary cooperation and digital education.
Through partnerships with universities, research centers and civil society organizations, CORE has actively contributed to the conceptualization, program structure and visual identification of, among others, the following events:

- The international scientific professional conference ,,Security and Crisis Management – Theory and Practice” (SecMan)
- International Conference on Management, Engineering and Environment (ICMNEE)

These events represent important steps towards building a global knowledge network, and CORE continues to develop innovative programs that connect science, technology and society.
